About Us
Who We Are
Vertical Church Ovilla
Vertical Church is driven to be the clear voice in society for declaring the gospel, the leading voice for speaking truth into the culture and the standard for training followers of Jesus to confidently live out their faith.
We believe the gospel produces transformed lives. That is why we disciple people to know God deeply, walk in the Spirit daily and live out their faith boldly, so their homes, workplaces and communities are changed through them.
Our Beliefs
What We Believe
Vertical Church is a community that believes in bold faith, radical transformation, and full obedience to God’s calling. We strive to raise up disciples who are grounded in truth, fearless in their walk, and dedicated to advancing God’s kingdom in every area of life.
We believe in Jesus Christ’s deity, His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension, and personal, imminent return.
We believe humanity—male and female—was created by God but sinned, bringing spiritual separation from Him and physical death; all people are sinful by nature and choice.
We believe marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God.
We believe Jesus died for our sins, and all who trust Him are declared righteous and restored into right relationship with God.
We believe the Holy Spirit now lives in every believer, empowering them to live for God and serve effectively.
We believe in the resurrection of all people—eternal life for those who trust Christ and eternal judgment for those who reject Him.
We stand firm on biblical truth in every area of life and culture, boldly addressing today’s pressing issues with clarity and love, calling all to live in obedience to God’s Word.
We believe that baptism is an outward picture of inward belief in Jesus Christ. Baptism is a public declaration of beginning a personal relationship with Jesus. It is one of the first steps of obedience for a new believer in their walk with Christ. Throughout Scripture, we see that people were:
- Baptized after they made a commitment to follow Christ.
- Baptized by immersion to picture the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
- Baptized publicly to declare their belief to the church and community.
